Pepper

Pick your favorite color

Our goal is quite simple: to give our customers the head start. By collaborating closely with them, together we can create pepper varieties that stand out because they're just better. Better in terms of how much they produce, how well they resist diseases, how quickly they grow, and of course, how good they taste. We are simply always chasing the sweetest taste.

Our pepper breeding power lies in the combination of two ingredients: our understanding of each market and each customer’s business needs and our unique genetic resources. Together with growers we aim for quick development without compromising on quality, creating pepper varieties that bring all the right features. Powered by a very diverse gene pool, that we keep safely locked in our seed vault, we apply the latest techniques and scientific insights to get each variety ‘just right’. To get that specific bite, that unique taste and with an irresistible color for each market.

To stay on top of the business, we constantly experiment and try out new methods, and our staff regularly implement new scientific insights directly into the pepper development process. In The Netherlands we focus on heated glasshouse crops, the Spanish markets are for non-heated protected cultivation varieties. Open field peppers are bred in Mexico and Florida for use in the USA and Mexican markets as well as many other open fields markets worldwide. With testing fields and high-end facilities all over the globe, we are confident in finding solutions to any pepper-variety-challenge that is put in front of us.
